Use of Greener Machinery
We have invested in 5 electric robots to help maintain our golf course. This system cuts our emissions by 90%, whilst creating perfect mulching with no waste and promoting natural mowing without the use of chemical fertilizers.

Renewable Energy programmes
As part of our commitment, we have installed solar panels across three of our larger roof tops. Currently generating over 300Kws, we are not only saving on our energy usage, but we are supplying the grid with any surplus generated.
Recycled Rainwater
Over the past 10 years we have been committed to recycling our rainfall using underground irrigation systems that pump from our reservoir and reuse water for our grounds and golf course, this helps us generate annual water savings of up to 30%.

Tree Planting Programme
We have completed our promise to plant new trees across The Suffolk Golf Club and Lark Valley Lodges. In December 2024, we reached our 10,000-tree milestone. In 2025 we aim to continue with our tree planting programme, helping with natural drainage across our golf course and adding to the natural charm of our venue.
Travelling to our venue
We encourage all our corporate clients, members and team to car share when travelling to and from our venue.

Noise Pollution
We ensure that our facilities run during sociable hours to enable us to protect our neighbours and wildlife, reducing our noise pollution.
New gym equipment
Our Life Fitness cardio machines are designed with innovative energy-saving technology that helps reduce our carbon footprint. By capturing the energy generated during your workout, the machines recycle that power to assist in operating the equipment. This self-powered system not only lowers electricity usage but also contributes to a more sustainable, eco-friendly gym environment.

Fair Trade Coffee
All of the coffee that we use in our barista and bean to cup machines is fair trade. Promoting sustainable farming practices that protect the environment and conserve resources.
Our Spa Products
TEMPLESPA pledge eco-friendly practices in their product development and packaging, aiming for 100% recyclable materials. They also focus on sustainable sourcing of ingredients whilst supporting local farmers. All products are cruelty-free, 100% vegetarian and 96% vegan.

No Plastic Water Bottles
We are proud to say we have removed all plastic water bottles from our bedrooms, installing a water dispenser in their place. So far, we have saved 92,394 bottles in 2 years. It has been so successful and well received by our guests we have now installed a second, saving an additional 2,366 bottles.
Foil-less manicures
Within our spa we avoid the use of foil and have opted for reusable clips to remove gel polish. Studies have shown foil takes between 200 – 500 years to break down through oxidation.

using local produce
We use an array of local suppliers for The View Restaurant, The Lodge Café and events, coinciding our delivery days across all food and beverage departments reducing our carbon footprint. We support our local farmers, utilising food waste and locally recycling our cooking oil.
recycling materials
All our paper used for menus and brochures is made from recyclable material. We ensure all our takeaway items such as coffee and food containers are fully recyclable. We heavily encourage all departments within the Resort to split their waste to ensure recycling where possible.

Electric timers
We use timers across the hotel in all public areas to reduce the use of electricity. All corridors, offices and communal areas have light sensors. Our gardens, car park and driveway are all lit by photocell sensors, only switching on once dark and automatically adjusting to the time of year.
Energy Efficient LED bulbs
Throughout our venue we use energy efficient LED bulbs, which contain no toxic chemicals. All of our light bulbs are recyclable and non hazardous.

pump dispensers
All of our bars use post mix pumps for Coca Cola, Lemonade and Soda, as it has recyclable packaging. This helps us save on glass and plastic waste. Currently we are looking at adding to this by moving our tonic and other mixers over to further reduce our waste.
laundry
We encourage our guests to reuse their towels during their stay, helping us to reduce our emissions in transportation to and from the laundry plant, and helping us to reduce emissions.
